EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI
As the title of film signifies, Nanhe Jaisalmer draws huge inspiration from the silent desertness of Rajasthan. Musically, Himesh manages to capture the essence of folk music, partially though. The soundtrack presents blend of melody, rock and pacy tunes which will cater the various music tastes of today’s generation.
Nanhe Yaar (Singer: Sonu Nigam)
Rating: 7/10
Nanhe Yaar, rendered by Sonu Nigam, glorifies the ideology of a heart warming melody. The track possesses all the features to make you fall in love with it from the very beginning. Himesh Reshammiya keeps the music simple and soothing, which goes easy on the ears. Nanhe Yaar depicts the mutual bond of friendship shared by Bobby and Nanhe in the film.
Ulfat (Singer: Himesh Reshammiya)
Rating: 5/10
Like most of Himesh’s track, Ulfat too starts with his regular ‘Oooo’ stuff. The track bears strong resemblance to Mehfuz (Apne). Ulfat is a complete contrast to Nanhe Yaar as rock music prevails throughout the song. The music and the lyrics suggest a concert mood. For long, the remix version of Ulfat outdoes the original but not enough to make way to the discotheques.
Kesariya (Singer: Vineet, Jayesh Gandhi)
Rating: 6/10
The melodious magic resurrects with Kesariya, a Indianized fusion of Rajasthani folk, Hindi antaras and soft music. While Jayesh Gandhi starts off with the folkish flavour, its Vineet’s resemblance to Sonu Nigam’s voice that hooks you to the song. On the whole, Kesariya deserves a few hearings before it gets rusted in your pile of music collection.
Ranjhana (Singer: Himesh Reshammiya)
Rating: 5/10
Himesh tries to bring out something very different in Ranjhana. Not just his crooning, but the music arrangement and the lyrics work differently from his previous works. Unfortunately, the sound does not manage to leave a deep impact even after a complete hearing. The remix version has an added bit of pace and rhythm which can be used to create a good music video for the film’s promotion.
Lamha Lamha (Singer: Himesh Reshammiya, Sunidhi Chauhan)
Rating: 4/10
With Lamha Lamha we come to a disappointing end to the sound track of Nanhe Jaisalmer. For the first time, female singer Sunidhi Chauhan croons a duet with the man with the cap, Himesh Reshammiya. The song is complete let down and should be buried without any flowers on it. The remix version is equally dull, leaving nothing to crave for.
