We expected it and it happend… Heyy Babyy has done what Chak De India failed to do… break into the UK Top 10 in its first week of release.
Sajid Khan’s lovable tale of three men and a baby made a total of £228,761 over the Bank Holiday weekend. It was shown in 48 screens and came out with the second best average of the week, £4,765. It was second only to The Bourne Ultimatum.
Heyy Babyy made it into the UK Top Ten at number 10. Chak De India was not able to do that, it slotted in at 12, the lowest opening slot for a Shah Rukh Khan film this decade.
The August Bank Holiday weekend in UK is generally slow business at the Box Office, what with the Notting Hill Carnival, the various music festivals, and the numerous Asian park Melas. All this plus the whole of UK basking in the sun, prompting many Asians to travel to the seaside. While all this was going on, people still found time to go watch Heyy Babyy and gave it a spectacular opening.

First of all the director knew how powerful king khan is in the overseas,so thats why he begged him to do a cameo!
The movie did not do well in the overseas cause of 3 reasons,
1.the name india(exact like phir bhi dil hai hindustani)in the overseas they are different countries!
2.no songs(thats why the overseas choose bollywood cause, otherwise we can watch hollywood!
3.No love story!
But now King khan is like the other actors(no one have secure in the box-office overseas like king khan!
but this movie is class.. it shouldnt even be compared to filth movies like Hey baby.. it is for a higher class crowd… but even then this film with strong word to mouth will soon be a blockbuster in India and a good hit over seas.. SRK is already undisputed king over seas.. The important thing is his movie is 10 times better then Hey baby.. and will get him another award this year, and deservedly so.
