On the day of Raksha Bandhan, Salman Khan’s sisters Alvira and Arpita met him in Jodhpur Central Jail.

According to agency reports, Salman Khan ’s two sisters and his parents – Salim Khan and Salma – met the actor in prison on Tuesday.

As per rules, the prisoners can be allowed to meet their relatives only once in a fortnight. Going by this rule, Salman’s parents and sisters would not have been able to meet him today because his brother Arbaaz Khan , sister Alvira and girlfriend Katrina Kaif met him in prison just two days back.

However, an exception was made today because of the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

During their meeting in jail, both sisters Alvira and Arpita tied Rakhi on Salman’s wrist. Reports say it was an emotional reunion in very unlikely surroundings.

Salman has been behind bars since Saturday last week after a Jodhpur court rejected an appeal against his conviction in the poaching case and upheld his five-year jail term awarded by a lower court. The hearing on his revised petition for bail will take place in the High Court on Wednesday.

On the other hand, actor Sanjay Dutt has got a reprieve for at least a month. When he was released from Pune’s Yerwada Jail a few days back, his sister Priya Dutt had described his release as a Rakhi gift from God.

In fact, back in 1994, when Dutt was lodged in jail and served 14 months behind bars, Priya had similarly visited him on Raksha Bandhan in jail. After Priya tied Rakhi to Dutt back then, he gave her coupons he had been saving in jail, as he had no money to give her. Priya has kept those coupons with herself to this day.
