Bollywood siren Urmila Matondkar is in talks with producers of Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ to play judge in the new series.
According to Mid-Day, the channel is desperately trying to lure the actress in joining the show after its last year judges (Farah Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Sanjay Leela Bhansali) said they were committed to other projects.
Says the source, “The reason we’ve approached Urmila is because she’s a terrific dancer. She loves watching dance-based shows and will definitely add a high dose of glamour to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.” When contacted Urmila said, “I am in talks but nothing is confirmed yet.”
The new series kicks off mid-next month and the channel is expected to make an announcement on its contestants and judges in due course.
Rohit Roy also looks more than likely to be named as host of the show, with last year’s finalist Shveta Salve set to accompany him.
