Maqbool Fida Hussain, draws his eccentricity from being a renowned artist to a controversial ‘religion attacker’. A person who has found himself placed in odd positions innumerable times due to his odd yet monotonous jive towards Hinduism.

Being enlisted in the elite group of Top 60 who shaped the history of India, M F Hussain is far from his motherland, juggling his life between Dubai and London. His words, “Things are so legally complicated back home that I have been advised not to return” signifies the fear within him.

Being away from his nation hurts M F Hussain as he says, “Mujhe Bambai Ki Baarish Yaad Aati Hai” but did he even think twice before hurting the sentiments of millions of people with his sinful pictures defying the shine of Indian traditions.

M F Hussain has misused his stature of being a finesse painter to draw fundamentalists vying for his blood back in India. He is convicted of painting Bharatmata as a nude woman across the map of India with the names of the states written across her body. Does this signify the glory of a worshipper of art?

Artistic Hussain, had once depicted the Quit India Movement on his canvas, and 59 years later in February 2006, he presented his motherland as a bare provoking picture. Talking about his past, Hussain has drawn much criticism for his attacks on various cultures and religions especially Hinduism.

In 1996, M F Hussain first came into the light of controversy when he portrayed Hindu deities in the nude, which had hurt the sentiments of a wide segment of Hindus living in the society. His apologetic nature has rescued him quite a number of times, but is he an amateur who doesn’t understand the difference between creativity and objectionable paintings?
