EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI
Indra Kumar’s films (barring Pyare Mohan) have always offered something new for the funky music lovers. This time though Dhamaal barely manages to touch the average rating because of its low sound quality and vocals. Much was expected from composer-singer Adnan Sami, who soared high with the musical success of Lucky. The movie now depends on its storyline and performances to make some Dhamaal at the sheepish box office.
Dekho Dekho (Singers:Adnan Sami, Shaan)
Rating: 6/10
The album kicks starts with a pacy ‘Dekho Dekho Dil Ye Bole’, which also happens to be the title song of the soundtrack. With its catchy lyrics and lively rendition by Shaan and Adnan, Dekho Dekho turns out to be fun filled listening experience.

Chandani Raat (Singer: Amit Kumar, Asha Bhonsle)
Rating: 4/10
Chandani Raat Hai begins in a classical style with Indian instruments making a strong presence. Asha Bhonsle and Amit Kumar pair up to croon this ‘mujra’ track. The lyrics don’t make an eventful impact. Amit Kumar’s voice chooses an unconventional approach which doesn’t suit his style of singing. Overall, a forgettable number.
Sandeep Shirodkar’s remix version and Raghav Sachar’s (of Kabul Express fame) instrumental can be switched off.

Miss India Martee Mujhpe (Singer: Adnan Sami, Amit Kumar)
Rating: 5/10
Adnan Sami and Amit Kumar team up together for the comic oriented Miss India Martee Mujhpe. The song boasts of a westernernized musical arrangement, with entertaining lyrics penned by Sameer. However, the song loses its momentum once it enters into the verses. A good chemistry onscreen will help the otherwise ordinary track.

A melodious voice of Asha Bhosle is wasted in Dhamaal. This legend with a strong voice is wasting her energy and time in
singing such utter garbage. Yes nothing wrong with singing mujra-qawalli combo but this one is not worth a repeat play.
Pity.
Chandni raat, one of the best songs of recent times, not for all listers maybe, it has a classical touch to it, I would say both Asha ji and Amit give a smooth as silk yet controlled performance as if playing with notes, job well done Adnan, bringing back Amit to the arena.
