Movie Review: Marigold (2007)
Published by  Webmaster  at 11:56:51 am on August 17, 2007

Director Willard Carroll has absolutely no idea about the disaster he has made. Not just direction, the movie fails to raise bars in the fields of story, screenplay, music and acting too.

Basically, the movie fails at the script level. Just by calling a film a Hollywood venture doesn’t guarantee quality cinema. Marigold stands out as the best example. The art direction is weak and outdated.

Musically, Marigold turns out to be a dud. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s is far from being acknowledged as a decent hear.

Actingwise, Salman delivers of his most amateurish performances till date. Ali Larter is good and has immense screen presence. Performance wise too, she is good. The other actors including Vikas Bhalla, Roopak Saluja and Rakesh Bedi lend in average performances in this gray shades of Marigold. Gulshan Grover…Who is he? Ian Bohen..a lost actor.

There is nothing one can cherish after watching Marigold. Overall, the film is a big blunder of circumstances with creativity lost in quest of innovative cinema.

  1. A sensible review of a silly movie. Salman Khan should never have any role in a Hollywood-crossover movie, unless he plays stunt double for Kermit the Frog. He looks like he is heavily sedated, and his voice is so wimpy it makes one cringe.
