Something very peculiar has happened in the United Kingdom. For a place that is known as a Shah Rukh Khan feeding ground, the latest release from the Bollywood star has made a disastrous start at the Box Office.
YashRaj Films’ Chak De India has opened at number 10 in this weekend’s chart, 5 places below than the opening of Partner a few weeks ago. The sports flick has managed a meagre £130,000.
This has come as a shock to YashRaj Films, who were expecting this film to rejuvenate their consistent failures this year. If Shah Rukh Khan is not able to re-light the YashRaj fire, then what else will?
The film is not expected to mantain its presence in the UK Top Ten next week, and industry insiders predict this film to be the biggest ‘blob’ of Shah Rukh Khan’s career in the UK. Even the heavily panned Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam managed to do better business.

SHAHRUKH HAS NEVER BEEN ABLE TO BRING SUCCESS AT BOXOFFICE WITH HIS ACTING ABILITIES, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE WELL NAMED PRODUCTION HOUSE AND THE SCRIPTS BUT THIS TIME EVEN THAT HAS NOT WORKED AND A ScRIPT LIKE THIS wAS NOT A RIGHT ONE.
YASHRAJ HOUSE SHOULD LOOK FOR SOME TALENTED ACTORS RATHER THAN BRINGING SamE KHANS.
The reason Chak De failed in the US because, Desi people living in the US don’t care about a film about field hockey. The movie is all about a sport no one is familiar with and only big name in the film was SRK. No one knew who those weird out place girls were. The film didn’t create excitement among people due poor music and lack of talent. We in America have seen so many films about sports! I am a big SRK fan, but I am going to skip this movie. You can tell this moving is boring by the dumb trailers and horrible music album
chak de india is an excellent movie. i was really emotional while watching this movie. i didn’t know that hockey is the national game of india as i am not an indian. despite being the national game, hockey is not given as much priority as cricket. people don’t like hockey as much as they love cricket. that’s the reason why the film failed. and also these days the people want to see hot scenes in the movie and this is also the reason for the failure. but to me chak de india is a brilliant movie which all indians should watch. it arouses patriotism to every indian. i simply loved this movie. a must watch movie for every indian.
