Star Gold is all set to celebrate the spirit of 60th year of Indian Independence by showcasing best of heartwarming patriotic movies, latest Bollywood blockbusters, Hollywood movie premieres and culminating with grand event of Hindi cinema – Idea IIFA 2007 Yorkshire, all through this month.
In order to celebrate the 60th Indian Independence, Star Gold presents ‘Chak De Hindustan’, a three-day festival of blockbuster patriotic movies beginning August 13 to August 15. The highlight of the festival will be the premiere of recent patriotic movie – ‘1971′. The movies to be aired include ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Swades’, ‘Zameen’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’, ‘Sarfarosh’, ‘23rd March 1931-Shaheed’, ‘The Hero’ and ‘Khakee’.
On August 6, Star Gold will celebrate the ‘Zabardast Janamdin’ of Kajol, one of the most successful bollywood actresses with many box office hits to her credit. Star Gold will be airing some of her biggest hits like ‘Raju Chacha’, ‘Dil Kya Kare’ and ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’, a release by Star said. On August 19, Star Gold will premiere the laugh riot movie ‘Bheja Fry’ and ‘Darwaza Band Rakho’ on August 27 at 2030 hours.
For the Hollywood movies’ fans Star Gold will exclusively premiere the ‘Chronicle of Narnia’ (dubbed in Hindi) in Hollywood Maha Premiere on August 18 at 2000 hours. Some other smash hits to be premiered are ‘Stuart Little 2′ , ‘Baby’s Day Out’, ‘Home Alone’, ‘Agent Cody Banks’ and ‘Spy Kids 1′.
Idea IIFA Awards has explored the horizons of Yorkshire to celebrate the spirit of Indian cinema to every corner of the globe and embraces cultures from every continent. Star Gold will air the grand event of Hindi cinema on August 25 and August 26 at 2030 hours, the release added.
