It’s the birds and bees that are bothering Shilpa Shetty. While the svelte actress admits she would love to have at least two kids post marriage, the idea of being pregnant doesn’t quite appeal to her.
She would much rather have twins and get it over with in one go!
“I just don’t want to go through the pain. There is no greater joy than being a mother but it’s equally painful to carry a child for nine months. I have no control over my future so there are things that I can only wish for. I don’t know whether or not they will come true,” she said.
The steel with which she faced Jade Goody, her detractor in the British television show Big Brother, is missing when Shilpa contemplates her life as a married woman.
Looking for a husband in the full glare of international media is clearly taking its toll on her. Bollywood’s sultry bombshell is upset with daily reports linking her to some man or the other.
“It’s true that I want to get married. Like any other girl, I too want to have a family of my own. But why should this spark off rumours and idle gossip?
“For instance, all these stories about my affair with Raj Kundra don’t have a grain of truth. In fact I have threatened the woman behind these baseless allegations with legal action unless she stops immediately,” said Shilpa.
The actress insists she knows what she wants when it comes to a life partner.
Since it’s important to Shilpa that the man she marries has time for her, she does not think the film industry is the place to find Mr Right.
“I am not looking for someone from my profession. It’s not because I don’t like industry men. But with the kind of schedules that actors follow, we will never have time to see each other. As it is, I am travelling so much.
“When I come home, I don’t want to hear that my husband has also left for shooting. What’s the use of such a marriage? Probably someone who has his own business will be a good choice as my life partner,” she adds.
