The scenes move from one frame to another in one of the most blatant ways seen in the recently made films. The characters carry the similar image throughout the film, making it a plain dish of dialogues.
The linear display of emotions and expressions is bothering, quite enough to see a constant rise in the number of people leaving the theatre as the movie progresses. The idea fails to find a new dimension in the treatment of the characterization.
Acting apart, the movie fails to capture the essence of Calcutta. One doesn’t get a feel of the city by displaying the language proficiency of shabby characters.
Dialogues are good only till the scene lasts. Cinematography is well designed and crafted.
Lilette Dubey and Neha Dubey give a sparkling performance. Victor Bannerjee leaves a longlasting impression with his fine performance. Moon Moon Sen is sexy, in her expressions, her accent, her acting. Newcomers Clayton Rogers and Pal need to work a lot on their acting skills, which is hammy in most of the scenes.
Storywise, Bow Barracks Forever! is a delight but the simplicity forced into the film makes it look like a boring documentary. Go to the theatre to have a good night’s sleep.

Stupid review. By chance had to watch this movie as no tickets were available for any other on a sunday evening. Had no expectations as didnt know anything. Was pleasantly surprised. After a very long time watched a good movie. Lovely depiction of the marginalised, glorifying them with all their ordinariness, capturing all that is human, albiet in a ironic and even a dark way, with such ironic integrity, just fantastic. The music was also awesome. Such a refreshing change from the bollywood crap we are forced to pay and watch.
Has this dude who wrote this review actually watched the movie, or has he lost all his sensibilities and finer senses that he cannot appreciate anything beyond the cheap bollywood craps?..
