EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

A film describing a strong theme and concept, needs to be presented with an intelligence conscience. Bow Barracks Forever narrates a true story with the slowless of reel life storyboard.

The plot of Bow Barracks Forever revolves around a small Anglo Indian Community based in the heart of North Kolkata. The people in the community are quite stubborn and are not exposed to bending ways of humanity.

The film explores the real life emotions of the community and its people who are constantly thriving for their identity, survival, hopes, dreams and objective of living.

The script deals with a package of issues, heartlessly knitted with some of the finest actors of the film industry, whose talent is sheerly wasted in this shoddy display of direction.

The unique idea of presenting a novel script is lost in the sceptical problems displayed by the characters. The story, which is a gem in its stature, is amateurishly handled.

  1. Stupid review. By chance had to watch this movie as no tickets were available for any other on a sunday evening. Had no expectations as didnt know anything. Was pleasantly surprised. After a very long time watched a good movie. Lovely depiction of the marginalised, glorifying them with all their ordinariness, capturing all that is human, albiet in a ironic and even a dark way, with such ironic integrity, just fantastic. The music was also awesome. Such a refreshing change from the bollywood crap we are forced to pay and watch.

Has this dude who wrote this review actually watched the movie, or has he lost all his sensibilities and finer senses that he cannot appreciate anything beyond the cheap bollywood craps?..
