Movie Review: Radio (2009) starring Himesh Reshammiya and Sonia Sehgal
Director: Isshaan Trivedi
Star Cast: Himesh Reshammiya, Sonia Sehgal, Shenaz Treasuryvala, Paresh Rawal
Radio Jockey Vivan (Himesh Reshammiya) has just been divorced from Pooja (Sonia Sehgal). He spends his time singing and of course doing whatever one does on the radio. While he does his radio, his own signal from the heart is transmitted directly into his colleague’s heart, Shania (Shenaz Treasuryvala). But there is a twist; Pooja is still in love with Vivan and pines for him day and night. The three tackle issues of the heart for the whole duration of the film while drinking coffee, updating statuses on Facebook and of course trying to sing without using your nasal. Thus is the story of Radio.
Radio is a very poor version of Dil To Pagal Hai. It has no story, no acting, and the music is just bearable. Director Isshaan Trivedi is a master in creating a film with no essence and creativity. Anyone could have held a camera and done a far better job than the one he has.
Himesh Reshammiya was touted as the next big thing in Bollywood soon after Aap Ka Surroor, his debut flick. His subsequent releases have tarnished that title and he is now in danger of joining the dinosaurs – getting extinct. In Radio Himesh does not act. My pet dog Babloo can show more emotions than Himesh has in this film and Babloo does not sing through his nasal – which is a plus. Himesh arrived with a bang but will be going out in a whimper.
Sonia Sehgal looks ugly and her acting is non-existent. The same can be said for Shenaz Treasuryvala. Paresh Rawal is annoying and the rest of the cast unbearable.
Watching Paa with Amitabh Bachchan and Radio on the same day, which I did unfortunately, opens your eyes to how good and how bad Bollywood can be. Paa is astounding and riveting viewing while Radio is as pathetic as a film can get.
Do not watch this! If you do then you only have yourself to blame.

U tony is a idiot baised person … claiming PAA a very good movie … What does PAA has amitabh and abhishek .. what its tells u .. did u really get any thing from it. A politican who is good and who know how messed up the media is and who has messed with a girl and now comes to know after 13 years he has a son … well really a fiction it can be … PAA is good because Amitabh role is good ..
Regarding Radio .. if u arent blind u cant see the emotions which is there .. u know sometimes in life u have to be silent and doesnt have to show ur emotions to really express that what the role provides u with… this situation happens in lot of peoples life .. i think you have to love somebody and then see this movie, and also it happens for ur work u need to make a sacrifice …. I hope u see the same this again .. About the movie its good .. i will rate it . 3.5/5 ..
Thanks Raj, for your avaluable comments, even i found its a good movie..
I dont know abt Himesh .. perhaps i hope he will gradually do better in future…. but one thing i can tell you that this tony is a ys born with no means .. i think there parents are making fun … while some thing got srious and he born out it…who the hell he is to talk abt Hr….he is god..
Well Tony is always been like this. very rude! zero???? c’mon if u dont like a movie atleast give it 2/10. because of this rudeness of your’s RS had hired Goher iqbal. to review the movies. i dono where the hell is he now-a-days. last few reviews were bad from him too for eg. he gave 8/10 for akshay’s movies which all failed to achieve hit status. i think that hit him badly and he walked away.
Tony Yaar, Pls do not do the reviews next time ok? pls!
