Chewing up a comedy is not everyone’s cup of tea. Almost every filmmaker tries hand in this difficult genre of a film but does every filmmaker succeed? The answer is as clear as crystal…. ‘No’… some do and some don’t. On today’s scene of Bollywood, very few directors and screenplay writers can be found who have mastery skills to accomplish this art. Amongst them, David Dhawan is the man who can churn out comedies aptly. But wait, before you think that his every comedy hits the jackpot..! He too faces disastrous situations with his comic flicks at the box office. But one thing is for sure that he has the ability and dexterity to make a good entertainer to get the viewers glued to the screens till the end. Hit and flop are the parts of this business of cinema. David too has to confront it.

The man once again is ready with his socks pulled up and boots on. Yes, his well in news and much awaited comic caper…his latest comedy, ‘Partner’ is finally out in theaters. Watch it by putting your head aside. Don’t look to take any logic out of the film. Just enjoy the joy-ride with the brilliant star cast and the captain of the ship David Dhawan. No doubt in saying that this is the best effort of David so far on film front. This really shoves your pleasures’ quotient to heights. A non-stop entertainer, ‘Partner’ tickles your funny bones utterly and does not leave you for yawning even for a moment. The story-teller has a magnificent grip to capture the audience.
Prem (Salman Khan) is a ‘date doctor’. He was born to be a love guru. Born among girls, he grew up among the beauties (gals) and now he gives advice and guidance to people about how to woo girls. He is a professional bachelor. He loves Naina (Lara Dutta) who is a journalist in a newspaper. But he discovers that his tricks do not match her.

Enters Bhaskar (Govinda), who falls in love with Priya (Katrina Kaif). Priya is a rich and the daughter of a tycoon (Dilip Tahil). With Prem’s help Bhaskar finds his love and soon Prem too gets his lady love.
The turns on the story ooze out when Priya’s father fixes her marriage with a foreigner. Bhaskar arrives on the marriage scene to get her love. Here it seems that the love stories of both Bhaskar and Prem will meet with happy endings but this does not happen. Instead their secret is exposed.
Although ‘Partner’ is an inspiration of a 2005’s Hollywood flick, ‘Hitch’ (starring Will Smith, Eva Mendes, Kevin James and Amber Valletta, but it makes its travel on desi comedy.
No tense moment at all in the entire film. The film belongs to David Dhawan, Salman Khan and Govinda. The direction is superb and well-executed. David shows his tour de force skills completely and plays his cards very well. The film looks lustrous. The chemistry between Salman and Lara and Govinda and Katrina appears fantastic.
Screenplay is a class. Writers Yunus Sajawal and David Dhawan do their job pretty well and use their heads brilliantly to script a fully entertaining narrative. There is no scene that compels you to break into a yawn. They make an utter fun-filled ride for the cinegoers.
Dialogues by Sanjay Chhel are great to enjoy with. Sajid-Wajid’s composition is really mellifluous. The songs glide on you and your ears. Bosco-Caesar’s choreography is worth to watch. The cinematographer Johny Lal impresses with his camera work. Alvira Khan Agnihotri’s outfits are classy.

Salman Khan and Govinda steal the show. Their power-packed acting is wonderful. You start thinking as if it is their best acting so far in their long careers. Lara Dutta looks pretty and stunning. Yes, she delivers a good performance. Katrina, the naturally gorgeous actress, hits boundary with her acting prowess. Rajpal Yadav as Chota Don sends chill through your bodies. Puneet Issar is okay. Suresh Menon is passable. Dilip Tahil enacts fine job. The child artiste Ali Haji impresses. Rest of the cast does well also.
On the whole, ‘Partner’ is a brilliantly made masterpiece. A superb entertainer laced with mammoth laughs, the film will bring huge business for the makers. The movie will send giggle on everybody’s face from filmmaker to cast to everyone who is associated with it. It’s a box-office hit.
