The Deols had made a smart move by demanding and eventually getting Apne’s Mumbai rights. Factually speaking, none of the Sunny-Bobby starrers in the recent past has worked at the box office, especially in Mumbai.
They have been traditionally having a major stronghold only in the North India territory. With the Mumbai rights of Rs. 4 crores given to the Deols, it suggests that their break up of individual acting fees can be summarized into – Sunny Rs. 2.5 crores, Bobby Deol Rs. 1 crore and Dharmendra Rs. 50 lakhs.
Thankfully, the film opened well on June 29th and went to do good business. Thereby, ending up the Deols in a win-win situation.
