Originally recorded by R.D. Burman for Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay (1975), the song became phenomenally popular.

It was sung by R.D. Burman himself with Jalal Agha and Helen dancing to it although Gabbar Singh was also supposed to be in the video.

The song has been remixed many times before but only Bally Sagoo managed to receive some amount of praise for his effort.
