Crazy fans all over the globe have done crazy things for their favorite stars. Fan clubs, temples erected in their names… net denizens have sites for their favourite stars in plenty, emotional and sometimes crazy letters have been sent to their idols.
Cashing in on this concept is an upcoming reality show. Sony Entertainment Television and Yash Raj Films have started a nationwide hunt for the biggest fan of the biggest superstars of India in Mera Sabse Bada Fan Banega Mera Hero across 12 cities — Lucknow, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Delhi, Indore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai. Auditions will be conducted from October 31st to November 8, 2009. During the auditions the fans have to prove why they think they are the biggest fan of the celebrity, how much they admire and worship their hero, what is it that makes them go to all lengths to become a die-hard fan. Top three fans of each superstar will be selected and given an extraordinary task and one among them will go on to become the Biggest Fan of the Superstar.
The nation-wide hunt will be a great opportunity for fans to actually express their adoration for their favourite star. The superstars include Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Dharmendra, A R Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Kajol, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor and Preity Zinta.
The show, a first of its kind, will be anchored by producerdirector Karan Johar. This is Yash Raj Films’ first venture into television.
