The producers of Yatra have dumped their in the pipe line project to be directed by Aparna Sen, Gahener Baksho, which was to star Govinda in his first off beat role.
The film would also have featured the mother – daughter duo of Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan for the first time.
Agnidev Chatterjee states in this regard, “The budget of the film was also being hiked upto Rs 6 crores from Rs 4 crores by Aparna. So we decided to scrap the project entirely and make a masala entertainer with bigger stars in the same budget.”
