The boy(?) wonder has done it again! He may annoy many and sing through the nose most of the time, but you just can not deny the popularity he has gained. Who are we talking about? Well, Himesh Reshammiya of course. According to reports his next big release, the aptly titled Radio, has recuperated it’s production costs. And all that remains now… is the profit to come reeling in when it does get released at the cinema.
Radio cost only Rs 6 crore to make and all that has now been recovered from initial music sales and satellite and video rights. Talking about the film, Himesh says, “I requested Ravi (producer) to go in for a very different release strategy as the film has been made for a target audience. The theatrical release will be in sync with the sensibilities with which Radio has been made. It has been treated with a very fresh approach and that’s what makes it very different or else, it’s a very simple love triangle set in 2009 with the backdrop of a radio station and an RJ as the protagonist.”
And if you were thinking this would be it from the Himesh bandwagon then you are most wrong. For Reshammiya has another 3 films all set to release in the coming months. Attaboy!
