Not happy with his last release, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’s relatively poor performance in the UK, Karan Johar is hoping that the inclusion of Shilpa Shetty in his next release ‘Khan’ might heat up the UK Box Office even further.
Shilpa Shetty is still weaving her magic in the UK, after her win on the reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother, and K-Jo wants to use her popularity to enable his film to reach the ‘gora’ audience. It is also a known fact that Shilpa is thirsty to work with a big banner like Dharma Productions and will move heaven and earth for a chance.
Khan will see Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol play a young Muslim couple living in New York, who find things have changed course for them, after the 9/11 bombings. It has been rumoured that a role was written for Kareena Kapoor, but now the idea of using Shilpa in place of Kareena is being thought upon as being much more feasible.

first of all, mr columnist…KANK was a big hit in UK.more than 1.7 Mio Pounds is fantastic.though not as much as K3G, but u cant call it “relatively poor “.ok, it was not appreciated.but thats another game.and the inclusion of Shilpa Shetty should have helped “Metro” as well in UK.but didnt…it opened poor in UK.the biggest USP of KHAN is the comeback of Kajol and SRK.that alone will do the trick.
If Kareena can play in a K-Jo film, so why not Shilpa, by the way I hate Shilpa too, the one is not better than the other one, they are same rubbish. he has to give the role to an sympatic girl, like Lara Dutta or Amrita Rao, they have acting skills, but Kareena and Shilpa are over acted!!

No, no and no… I don’t think shilpa should be in a K-jo’s movie neither should kareena…. Karan has always chosen the best of bollywood for his movies, he shouldn’t come down to shilpa which has never been as successful in india as people think abroad… simply because her acting was never verry good unlike rani, preity, kajol etc…
Nevertheless, i think it’s a big mistake to cast somebody because of the success the movie might get… if he casts shilpa, it should be for the good reasons!
both are good… I dunno abt Shilpa… I haven’t seen many great things abt her, but Kareena is really good…she was great in Dev ,Chameli, Omkara… She would be perfect again in a Kjo film.

If Karan Johar is thinking replaceing Shilpa i think he is making a mistake.Shilpa can’t act,I am not a fane of Karina but still she is better than Shilpa.Because of controversy she won Big Brother,and with all the support from Asians other wise she had no chance,Shilpa is too much of her self but nothing.
I wouldn’t want to comment on who should Karan Johar (Director) cast in his next movie “KHAN” (i.e Kareena or Shilpa). It’s a call that the director himself has got to take. I am glad to hear that KAJOL & SRK are back together on the screen to fire it up. They make an excellent on screen pair.
of course shilpa should be in khan cos shilpa is hot world over n she sure can act n if u need proof metro, dus, phir milenge n rishtey are more than enough besides she is the global face of india n asians.
