So, Hema Malini has finally got a role for her daughter, which she thinks, only Esha Deol can play. Yes, after Konkona Sen Sharma gave a new twist to her role as a journalist in the National award winning Page 3, Malini wants Esha to essay a journalist in her second directorial venture.
A source who’s working with Malini on the script says, “Esha was the first choice for Hemaji. She in fact, asked us to rewrote the role thrice, because she wasn’t satisfied; she still isn’t, but she has liked the basic layout of the script.”
Malini has last directed Dil Aashna Hai, with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. There were others like Amrita Singh and Mithun Chakraborthy too. This one too will be a multi-starrer. It was reported some time back that Malini has spoken to Rekha for an important role; while she had expressed her desire to cast Abhishek Bachchan though she hadn’t had a word with the Bachchans regarding the role. Malini herself won’t play any role, as the source puts it, “She wants to focus only on one aspect of the film and wants to see that she completes it with full honesty.”
Meanwhile, there might just be a slight delay in the movie. Malini can only begin the project next year ince she will remain tied up till then.
