Movie Review: Jashnn
Producer: Vishesh Films
Director: Raksha Mistry and Hasnain Hyderabadwala
Cast: Adhyayan Suman, Anjana Sukhani and Shahana Goswami
Bhatts new outing, ‘Jashnn’ is out finally. Starring Adhyayan Suman, Anjana Sukhani and Shahana Goswami in the lead, it is directed by the directors’ duo Raksha Mistry and Hasnain Hyderabadwala.. ‘Jashnn’ is about a person who wants to achieve success in life. It tells the story of a guy, who is nobody but wants to be somebody in life.
The movie is about a band, the friends who are music lovers, relationships and about dreams. It walks on the paths of the super hit flick, ‘Rock On!’.
The film revolves around Akash (Adhyayan Suman), who lives with his sister Nisha (Shahana Goswami). Nisha is a high society escort and the mistress of a wealthy entrepreneur (Humayun Saeed), who loathes Akash. Since Akash is financially dependent on the sister, he cannot raise any voice on her being the mistress.
The first half of the movie seems interesting but the second half loses its beauty since it becomes tiring for the viewers. The romantic track of the film should have been more intense, as it is not. Thankfully, it’s the climax that covers the blemishes.
In short, leaving aside the minuses of the flick, ‘Jashnn’ is a convincing film from the Bhatts’ camp being laced with mellifluous music, well-written screenplay, bravura performances and the rest.
Akash (Adhyayan Suman) wants to be a singing icon. He becomes hugely depressed when he comes to know that his sister Nisha (Shahana Goswami) has become the mistress of an affluent businessman Aman Bajaj (Humayun Saeed) in order to give her brother a decent lifestyle. A twist in tale emerges when Sara (Anjana Sukhani) enters Akash’s life at that time when he is down. Sara is the sister of Aman Bajaj. Sara helps Akash understand his skills of singing. He then becomes an overnight star and in the process, he humbles his biggest detractor Aman Bajaj.
Directors’ duo Raksha and Hasnain has done brilliant job. After making the thrillers, they attempt emotional subject.
Some sequences simply touch the heart and are well executed like the below:
The tiff between Akash and Aman.
When Akash goes to apologise Aman at his office.
When a music company rejects Akash’s demo and he outbursts.
Although the flick is gripping nonetheless it has its shares of flaws like it becomes lackluster in romantic scenes. The second half is not convincing. The low phase in which the protagonist goes through could have been made more effective.
The direction is appealing. Raksha and Hasnian deserve huge marks. Shagufta Rafique, who writes the film, impresses utterly with the writing skills. Since Bhatts are known for their brilliant sense of music, this film has too melodious music to hum it around. Cinematography is eye pleasing.
Adhyayan Suman shows that he has improved as an actor. He depicts his histrionics. From across the border, Humayun Saeed enacts the job brilliantly. He is worth to watch. Shahana Goswami portrays the character skillfully. Anjana Sukhani does the acting with aplomb. Rest of the cast does well also.
On the whole, ‘Jashnn’ is a well-made film with good performances and a story filled with emotions. Go for it.
