Movie Review: Runway
Director: Sunil-Praful
Cast: Amarjeet, Tulip Joshi, Deepal Shaw, Lucky Ali, Sharat Saxena, Shawar Ali, Mrinal Deshraj and Vida Samadzai
Music: Shamir Tandon
Tulip Joshi’s Runway’s promos have started running very late on all the channels. The publicity was very low for the movie. Anyway the film is out now. Directed by Sunil-Praful, the flick stars Amarjeet, Tulip Joshi, Deepal Shaw, Lucky Ali, Sharat Saxena, Shawar Ali, Mrinal Deshraj and Vida Samadzai.
Allan (Amarjeet) arrives in Mauritius having an assignment for Anthony (Sharat Saxena), who is a mafia don, to get his girlfriend Melvina (Deepal Shaw) out of danger. But he is not aware of the dangers, which will welcome him. After he honours his contract of killing a casino owner, Victor (Nagesh Bhosale) he realizes he has been tricked and that he is being hunted by a deadly contract killer, Khalid (Lucky Ali). As soon as he moors the belts to escape from all of these problems to go back to India, he finds help in the form of Shaina (Tulip Joshi) who is a bar dancer. But despite having got that final chance to head back to India, Allan decides to stay here, as he comes to know that there are some things, which are not what as they appear to be. Follows next is the cat and mouse game between Allan and Khalid.
There is no novelty in the plot. The script is ordinary. The direction seems poor. No sequences has worth to attract the viewer. It has been tried to make it like a Hollywood thriller but no way, it does not fit into Hollywood frame even for a moment. Lucky Ali’s character needed more elaboration. All from suspense, romance, action and drama have been tried to inject in this 1 hour and 45 minutes’ saga but this masala oozes out as boring stuff.
Shamir Tandon’s music appears spongy. Cinemotography is okay. Editing is mundane.
Amarjeet looks good as an actor. Tulip Joshi, whereas looks sexy, but also displays her acting skills. Lucky Ali raises the spirits. Rest of the cast is just about okay.
On the whole, ‘Runway’ will surely run away from the theaters soon since it has nothing to offer to the audiences.
