Music Review: Kissan
Producer: Ronnie Screwala and Sohail Khan
Director: Puneet Sira
Cast: Arbaaz Khan, Jackie Shroff, Dia Mirza, Nauheed Cyrusi, Sohail Khan, Dalip Tahil
Music: Daboo Malik
Director Puneet Sira is one who has made film with Sohail Khan (titled I Proud to be Indian) earlier. This time around, he again comes up with the man in the upcoming, ‘Kissan’. Puneet’s sense for music is fabulous and that is evident from his churned out flicks. The expectorations are again high with him for a good music but let’s check it out from the soundtrack by ourselves.
1): Punjabi Munde (Labh Janjuwa , Shakti Singh , Daboo Malik , Parthiv Gohil, Sunidhi Chauhan and Suddharth Singh)
A bhangra song begins the album. Laced with a fair dose of western influence in it, the song features the voices of Labh Janjuwa , Shakti Singh , Daboo Malik , Parthiv Gohil, Sunidhi Chauhan and Suddharth Singh. Earl D’s rap is what entices you full. All the vocalists display histrionics. S.R. Bharti and K. Juneja write the lyrics and impress with the pen. The composition by Daboo Malik is energetic. Go to listen it again.
Rating: 7/10
2): Punjabi Munde – Remix Version
Remix version allures the souls also.
Rating: 6.5/10
3): Humko Kehna Hai (Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal)
Shaan and Shreya Goshal both team up to render the track, ‘Humko Kehna Hai’. Both beguile the listeners with their classy vocals. The mushy lyrics penned by Panchi Jalonvi make a spongy mood of the song. The music is simply heart-warming.
Rating: 7.5/10
4): Jhoomo Re Jhoomo (Ad Boyz, Abhijit Ghoshal, Daboo Malik, Tarranum, Sujata Majumdar and Pavni Pandey)
A horde of singers like the opening number emerges on the scene to warble the lines. Ad Boyz, Abhijit Ghoshal, Daboo Malik, Tarranum, Sujata Majumdar and Pavni Pandey come behind the mike and attract the listener. The number has Punjabi flavor that injects the pleasures into the souls of the music buffs. A celebration track, it holds the attention throughout since it’s pacy and boisterous. The lyrics are great and so is the music. Well, you may press the repeat button.
Rating: 7.5/10
5): Neeche Saari Duniya (Roopkumar Rathod and Harshdeep Kaur)
Roopkumar Rathod and Harshdeep Kaur moor the belts to croon this song and present the perfectly delivered vocals. A devotional feel is attached to this number that spells magic with you. Salim Bijnori scribbles down the lyrics, which have appeal. Daboo Malik’s music is squashy.
Rating: 7.5/10
6): Waqt Ki Dhoop (Toshi)
Toshi gets his solo to croon but lacks somewhere in the crooning. It’s a song about the people who come together to move ahead in order to fight against the oppression. The lyrics do not fit aptly well to the mood so is the music. This is the only number that fails to register impacts on the listeners else the whole album is great to stay with.
Rating: 2/10
Conclusion:
On the whole, the soundtrack of Kissan is pleasing and spells magic with the listeners.
Overall Rating: 7/10
