Karan Johar remakes ‘Agneepath’ in Hindi
Karan Johar will remake the Bollywood blockbuster Agneepath, it has been reported.
The producer has reportedly lined up Hrithik Roshan for the Hindi update to play the part that Amitabh Bachchan made famous in the original, reports The Times Of India.
Johar has not needed to buy the film rights as they are already owned by the estate of his late father Yash, who produced the first version of the picture.
"Karan has been planning to remake Agneepath but he was waiting for the right time," a source told the newspaper.
"Now he is confident that his company Dharma Productions can make multiple films at the same time."
Karan Malhotra will direct the film, which Johar intends to update stylistically while keeping the dialogue the same as the original.
