The family of Shiney Ahuja has come out in support of the beleaguered actor, saying they are with him under all circumstances. Shiney’s maidservant has claimed that he had raped her and had filed a complaint with the police.
"I have no doubts about my husband’s character. He is innocent and is being framed in the case. In this tragic situation, I will stand by my husband. We love him and are with him at every step," declared Shiney’s wife Anupam.
"The Shiney Ahuja that I know cannot do such an act and I refuse to believe this story. Shiney has worked for two films of mine and I never received any complaint against him by anyone. However, the final judgment given by the court will be respected," said film director Sudhir Mishra.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit said if proven guilty, Shiney should be punished accordingly. "But one should judge him on the basis of assumptions or allegations made by a person against someone. There is law which will give the final verdict. Being celebrities, we have certain responsibility towards society, but at the same time, because we are celebrities, we should not be punished outside the court," he said.
Dale Bhagwagar, who earlier handled public relations for Ahuja, said he found it hard believe the allegations. "I know him as a good human being and a decent family man. He had done a lot of charity work while I was looking after his public relations," he said.
