The medical report of the domestic help, who accused actor Shiney Ahuja of rape, showed she had been sexually assaulted and forensic experts searched his house in an attempt to find additional evidence against him.
"We have received the medical report of the victim and it has corroborated with what the victim has alleged against the actor in the FIR," Deputy Commissioner of Police Niket Kaushik said.
Rubbishing reports that the police is giving special treatment to Ahuja considering his social status, police sources said that the actor is being treated like any other accused in the lock-up and interrogation is on.
When contacted, Ahuja’s lawyer Srikant Shivde said, "I do not want to comment on either the medical report or the allegation of rape. We will wait until the chargesheet is filed".
The police arrested Ahuja after preliminary medical tests on the girl confirmed sexual assault.
A forensic team visited the actor’s house in suburban Oshiwara, where the alleged offence was committed, to try and obtain more evidence from the spot. The house was sealed by the police later.
The police are also sending clothes worn by the actor and the victim on the day of the incident to the Forensic Science Laboratory for tests.
Ahuja, arrested on Monday, is in police custody till June 18 for allegedly raping the domestic help at his residence while they were alone at home.
The actor, who was kept at the Andheri police station, was brought to the Oshiwara police station on Tuesday for interrogation, police officials said.
Meanwhile, around 200 domestic maids are likely to gather outside suburban Oshiwara police station to protest against Ahuja and adequate security measures have been taken, police said. Ahuja was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping his domestic maid and was produced before a metropolitan magistrate which remanded him to police custody till June 18.
