Made under the banners of Vishesh Films, Dhoka is a yet another hard hitting film from the innovative production house of Bhatts. Pooja Bhatt is the task master extracting the performances and handling the director’s job this time.
Dhoka makes the debut of model turned actor Muzammil Ibrahim. Tulip Joshi is casted opposite him in the film.
Dhoka is treated as an honest attempt to visualize and bring forward the harsh realities of terrorism and bombing. The film is intense in its approach and will allure to audience who look out for substance rather than meaningless entertainment. The film leaves a message of sensitivity, love, responsibility and unity, which at times are forgotten.
The plot of Dhoka revolves around a young and brilliant Muslim police officer Zaid Ahmed (Muzammil Ahmed) in Mumbai. He is admired for his honesty and dedication towards his work. He is accustomed to the frequent incidents of bombings and violence in the city and works hard in order to bring life back to normal.
One day he gets the shock of his life when he finds the body of his wife Sarah (Tulip Joshi) amidst the blood stained bodies at the New Century Club, where a bomb blast had taken place. Sarah was a beautiful lady with a suavely crafted body and soul. Her existence is mysterious in the plot.
The police declares that Sarah was one of the suicide bombers who worked on the grounds of terrorism. Zaid is torn completely on his personal front. The wounds found on Sarah’s body add to the overall element of suspicism.
Later, it is cleared that Sarah was the prime responsible for the calamitous bombing. Zaid is still to come of the deceit given by his beloved to him.
