Love blossoms at the very first sight when Anthony meets Riya Peraira (Amrita Arora) at the cemetery. Co-incidentally, Riya is an assistant director in the film industry.
One day, Anthony hears the conversation between Riyaaz and Maqsood where Riyaaz prompts Maqsood to go against Sikander. Anthony leaves for his audition with the conversation in his mind and enacts his scene well as the film is based on Julius Ceasar.
Anthony’s happiness sees no bounds when he gets selected for the film. He reaches Sikander’s house where he becomes the sole witness of Sikander’s murder by his gang.
Now, the entire film focuses on Anthony as he hides himself from the aghast minds of Riyaaz and Maqsood.
Director E Niwas has certainly lost his midas touch, which was last seen in Shool. He has intrigued too much of simple patterns in the film. Drama looks tragedy at times, comedy looks forced and screenplay immensely weak. But overall, one can call My Name is.. a timepass film.
Actingwise, Nikhil does a fairly decent job as a newcomer. Amrita Rao looks good. Anupam Kher is cool in his portrayal. Mithun , Mukesh Tiwari and Dayashankar Pandey are average.
Overall, watch this Shah Rukh Khan’s production if you want to have a brainless end to your weekend as you won’t have anything to take back once you are out of the theatres.
