EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI
My Name is Anthony Gonsalves is a time pass affair, not meant for the brainy types. Nikhil Dwivedi suits the tagline of the film – An ordinary man with extraordinary dreams. So what about the film? Does it hold anything good for the general public?
Yes, it does but in bits and parts. In the end, you may come out saying ‘Picture thik hi thi yaar!’ The film starts off on a slow note, taking its own course of time post interval to pick up.
Anthony Gonsalves dreams of becoming an actor. As of now, he serves in Jimmy’s pub as a bartender, located in Mumbai. Anthony is solely responsible for the hassle free business in the pub while the bosses Sikander, Maqsood and Riyaaz look after their bhaigiri business.
Sikander, who also happens to be Anthony’s caretaker, keeps him away from the illegal business run by his gang. Anthony finds a ray of hope in an old cameraman who motivates Anthony and gives him the links to make it big in the starry world of cinema.
Coming to the gang, Murtuza Seth (Anupam Kher) is its leader while Riyaaz is a silent guy with killer instincts, Maqsood is argumentative and short tempered and Sikander is a person who is very much in control of himself.
