EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI
Many people have already distanced themselves from the magnum opera release of the year – Jodhaa Akbar. Quite contrast to their narrowed views, Jodhaa Akbar is magnificent approach to blend entertainment, romance and mind blowing action scenes in one huge film.
The film is quite lengthy but leaving a few minutes, there is no serious restlessness. Infact, Jodhaa Akbar stands out because of its tight screenplay and writing, clever direction and fantantic performances.
The film unfolds the unknown love story between the greatest emperor of the Mughal dynasty Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar (Hrithik Roshan) and a young, beautiful and mischievous Rajput princess Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan).
The plot is set in the historical backdrop of sixteenth century when the Rajput King Bharmal (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) of Ajmer gives his daughter, Jodhaa’s hand to Akbar. The move was political as to gain strength in terms of relations between the Rajputs and the Mughals.
As Akbar accepted the proposal, little did he know that he is laying the foundation for an all new journey – called love.
The grand spectacle shows the images of King Akbar conquering over his enemies in the battle field, gaining the title of ‘Akbar The Great’ and winning the love of Rajput princess Jodhaa.
