A missile explodes when the two meet each other in a drastic situation which speaks all but against Badki. Later, the story drifts on to Abhishek and Rani’s love story which is threatened by the arrival of her cousin in Mumbai.
The narration is filled with confusion and pot holes. It’s strange that Badki’s friend, played by Suchitra Pillai advises Badki to make body selling her profession. Sounds like a new industry in the rising! The scenes where Chutki is groomed to get a better livelihood leaves the theatrical audience in an uncomfortable state.
The climax is shown in a typical Bollywood platena. The realistic touch is lost somewhere in the process of telling a good old tale.
The film is predictable to the core, so much so that you can see the promos and find the same craft on the bigscreen.
The film is not a trash right from the beginning. Pradeep Sarkar’s depicts the pain of Badki’s family in Benaras in a convincing manner. Rather, it is the shocking move that Rani makes, takes the film in a wrong path. Badki could have chosen a better stream, may be modelling instead of prostitution. Is it so easy to push a person to cross the limits? From now on, friends will encourage each other to take up this profession if found jobless. Weird!
Pradeep Sarkar’s loose grip on the script and poor characterization is witnessed throughout the film. The film moves at a lethargically slow pace making it a pain for the viewers. Good cinematography needs a mention and so do the dialogues.
