Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya were both slated for release on Diwali, but it seems that King Khan has preponed his movie release date after a meeting with Bhansali.
Bhansali was worried that the release of Om Shanti Om could affect initial Box Office takings for his movie, so therefore arranged a meeting with Shah Rukh. “Bhansali has had a talk with Shah Rukh, and they’ve mutually agreed not to release their films on the same day, so that the debut film of Ranbir (Rishi Kapoor’s son) and Sonam (Anil Kapoor’s daughter) does not suffer. Shah Rukh has been kind enough to oblige, and is looking at a date prior to Diwali – most probably a week earlier,” reveals a source.
