Producer: Subhash Ghai

Music: Sajid-Wajid
Subhash Ghai’s production and Parristosh Painter’s directed venture, ‘Paying Guest’ is making news these days. The duo of Sajid-Wajid churns out music for this film, which has been out now. Many lyricists have been roped in to write the lyrics for the album. Sajid-Wajid’s compositions are usually fast paced but this one is not the one to please you. Let’s check it out:
1): Jack and Jill (Shaan and Earl D’ Souza)
The album opens up with this number that is sung by Shaan and Earl. Both disappoint with the renditions. The pace of the music is slow but the western arrangements look high in the background. Lyrics are mundane and so is the composition. Leave it.
Rating: 1/10
2): Jack and Jill (Shaan and Earl D’ Souza) – Remix Version
The remix version is a big disappointment.
Rating: 1/10
3): Nazar Se Nazria (Sunidhi Chauhan)
Next is ‘Nazar Se Nazria’ sung by Sunidhi. She sings it with her trademark mischievous style and impresses. The lyrics are poor. And the composition is okay. Overall impact is boring. What attracts you is the singer only.
Rating: 2/10
4): Nazar Se Nazria (Sunidhi Chauhan) – Remix Version
Remix version is not up to the mark also.
Rating: 1/10
5): Paying Guest (Wajid Ali)
Wajid Ali from Sajid-Wajid duo comes to croon the lines of the title track. He does not raise the spirits. Same happens with the writing and music job – all are big disasters.
Rating: 1/10
6): Ya Rabula Rabbi (Sonu Nigam, Eral D’ Souza and Amrita Kak)
The trio of Sonu, Earl and Amrita teams up to render this song but sorry to say nothing novel in the renditions come up to entertain your souls. The lyrical job is lackluster and on the musical instruments, poor efforts show. Avoid it.
Rating: 1/10
Conclusion:
Wonder, what happened to showman (Subhash Ghai) whose music sense is fabulous and all inside and outside the industry acknowledge it! He is the one, whose movies are remembered always due to the spongy mellifluous music. This time, either he has not put attention to the music or he has not attended the studios while the music was being composed. Anyway, it is a big time failure for Subhash Ghai’s production house.
Overall Rating: 1/10
