Excel Entertainment inks a deal with Eros International…
We have earlier heard that Excel Entertainment was in talks with Big Pictures but the deal now seems in danger. The latest is that Excel is now churning out talks with none other than Eros International for their next flick, ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’. If sources are to be believed, we heard that Eros has offered to Excel Rs. 30 crores for this movie.
A source utters, “Excel Entertainment and Big Pictures have a six-film deal. Rock On!! and Luck By Chance were part of the deal. However, Excel is not negotiating with Big Pictures for Karthik Calling Karthik and will instead ink a deal with Eros,which is almost finalised.”
Things seem to be going in Eros’s favor, as Big Pictures does not show interest in the price demanded by Excel.
This film is a co-production between Excel and Magix Beans Films run by Amit Chandra and Vijay Lalwani, who is also the writer-director of the film. Excel Entertainment did not want to go for a lesser money. So they settled with the high price of Rs. 30 crores made by Eros International. In the time of recession, if Excel gets this price then that is a big thing for them. Farhan Akhtar looks pretty confident about the success of this flick. And is of the view that this film will certainly put him in the big league.
