Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan is toying with the idea of making an Indian feature film based on the popular American television drama Prison Break.
In the US, Prison Break has been a resounding success for FOX TV, currently one of the top rated Monday night shows. The series, now in its second season, is based on the escape of inmates from a high security prison. Aided by a highly intelligent architect, who commits a crime so that he is banged up in the same prison as his death row brother, using his skills to free him and a bunch of other high end convicts.
Shah Rukh Khan has watched series 1 one on DVD, while he has been shooting for sports flick Chak De India, and is hoping to ready a script based on a similar story premise.
Shah Rukh is wanting to play the role of the death row brother (Lincoln Burrows), and hopes to recruit John Abraham for the role of Michael Schofield.
Let us assure you that this is only a rumor as of yet, and nothing has been confirmed, apart from Shah Rukh Khan talking to a journalist of the record.

I think it is an absolutely preposterous idea for Shahrukh to even attempt to have anything to do with the remake of Prison Break. First of all I think the Indians will make an absolute mess out of the show–and even John Abraham–who might have the looks for the show–but he simply does not have the acting skills to play any part in an Indian remake!
This must be a total joke.. The whole idea is ridiculous! He should really keep in mind that this would give Prison Break a bad name.. Stick to doin Bollywood films, Mr Khann.

oh god… if it does become a movie, and still hold reverence to the plot, then it should be about… 6 films worth of plot. the idea is pathetic and even though i am a fan of khan, i think this would ruin his name and the name of prison break…
Thats just a preposterous and stupid idea… i am a srk fan but imagine a frail bodied shahrukh playing lincoln who looks like a wrestler…!!! n i dont think john abraham will look too good with tattoos all over his body… this is just plain freakish… i hope srh gets sued and this project doesnt start…. in the benefit of the show.. thel ruin it…. wat say people..???
Don’t make me laugh. When you don’t have stories to write in your website, you come up with your own ideas? FOX will sue the makers if something of that sort happens. We all like Prison Break and want to see how it ends. I hope you too watch it and forget Shahrukh or John playing Burrows or Scofield.

the idea isnt bad.
but if ever a remake of Instant classic prison break is made it should be equal to the original version and not a version that would damage the original and make a fool out of indian cinema…it would be worth a watch if its made properly…

Its gona be a disaster. I guess instead shah rukh should do some thing to get the original series over here in India ( like some rights to play them here according to us schedule). I won`t say that Indian actors are bad but no 1 can think are capable of playing the roles of Michael Schofield , T Bag , John Abruzzi , Lincoln Burrows . etc etc.
