Karan shares his aspirations with his best pal Daboo in the orphanage. One day, he lays his hands on a cricket bat. Karan starts believing that the bat is the same one which Kapil Dev had used in the World Cup win in ’83.
The bat turns out to be magical for Karan as one day the coach of Indian cricket team spots him playing and introduces him into Team India. The move draws huge amount of criticism but he manages to walk on the ground with his captain Varun as his opening partner. He plays an impressive knock and wins the match for India.
Karan soon becomes a national hero with his cricketing stint. He is now being sought for adoption by every couple who used to reject him earlier. Raghav, is the orphanage bully and is keen on taking the magic bat from Karan at any cost as he believes that it is the bat that has turned the fortunes for Karan.
Karan and Varun become good friends and share an emotional bond. Varun has his own misery as he is separated from his father and does not want to go back to him. Karan decides to unite Varun with his father and succeeds in doing the same.
