Kaushik Roy has roped in some of the industry’s most talented and finest set of actors for his directorial venture Apna Asmaan. The cast includes names like Anupam Kher, Irrfan Khan, Shobhana, Rajat Kapoor and Dhruv Piyush Panjnani.
Umang Pahwa is the producer of the film. Barun Mukherji is the head of the cinematography department and director Kaushik Roy has conceptualized and penned the story of the film.
The movie is set in the city of Mumbai and is a modern insight on a young couple’s desires and aspirations. The head of the family earns his living by working in the plastics arena. His wife is a classical dancer but she gives up her hobby after marriage.
The couple get the shock of their lives when their only son is characterized by impaired communication, excessive rigidity, and emotional detachment. His only connection with the world is through his paintings.
His retarded condition leaves his father broken with guilt and his mother who was looking for a bright future from the boy. One day, the lady of the house manages to get a drug for the boy which works magically on him but with its own set of consequences.
The movie has an interesting storyline which should go well if executed and publicised in right quotient.
