Shri Ashtavinayak Cinevision brings the mega budgeted project, ‘Blue’ that is directed by Anthony D’ Souza and stars Akshay Lumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif and Kylie Minogue in the main leads.
Storyline:
The film is Bollywood’s first ever underwater adventure thriller. You may have witnessed many underwater scenes in Hindi films. But an utter thriller beneath the water is what is called, ‘Blue’. The film is an inspiration from the Hollywood flicks, ‘The Deep’ and ‘Jaws’. You may not call it a ditto copy. It’s just an inspiration or loosely based on these flicks.
‘Blue’ talks about a lost treasure. Three friends – Akshay, Sanjay and Zyed are geared up to find it under the ocean. There is someone amongst them who deceits and betrays to others. While the hunt for the treasure is going on, everything comes forward. Who’s that person who’s betraying? And what happens to the friends? Whether they will find the treasure or not?
Facts:
Sanjay Dutt is opposite Lara Dutta. Lara did not know the deep sea diving. So she had to take the Scuba diving training to give the role an utter perfection.
Katrina Kaif is the other actress in the movie, which has a powerful role. About which, the director speaks big.
Sunil Shetty is there in the movie, but for a brief role.
The Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue gives a guest appearance in the film. She sings for the film and also shots sizzling video with Akshay Kumar.
The shooting of the movie has been done in Bahamas where Akshay, Sanjay and Zayed swam with the real sharks. And the stunts they did were simply dangerous. While shooting underwater, Akshay’s head hit against the metal of the ship and the bleeding started. The blood attracted the sharks but before they reached to him, he was pulled out of the water safely. To get a leaner but muscular physique, Sanjay Dutt hired a US trainer especially for his look for the film.
With a mammoth budget of over Rs. 100 crores, ‘Blue’ is rated as the most expensive film of the Hindi cinema’s history to date. Other Credits:
The Oscar winner musician A R Rahman has composed the songs for this film.
Release Date:
In May this year, the film is scheduled for release.
