Aditi Sharma singing is better that all the judges which include Alka Yagnik. That was the reason she was rejected with humiliation so that mental toucher will keep Aditi Sharma in hybridization for some time & she will never come to Mumbai for commercial singing which may be not economical for Alka Yagnik & other singers.

I’ve been following SVOI quite religiously.
One thing is very clear to me that we Indians(pardon my rant) don’t know the meaning of public voting in a talent show like this. I believe we haven’t reached the maturity to vote people based on talents – and I’m afraid to say we never will. Voting here doesn’t mean its a political/democratic activity where we vote people who are from our community/state or who we “like/want” to win the tournament – it means we vote for people based on their signing talent regardless of where they’re from (or how they beg for vote from Punjab/bengal).

Can ANYONE ANYWHERE explain me how the hell are Arshprit(who is ALWAYS begging for vote in punjabi-ALWAYS) or Ishmeet(even though he is one of my favourites – he started off really well in SVOI) are better than Toshi/Irfan/Priyani/Prantika in a way these these people figured in last 4(and Prantiaka even lost). Prantika is miles ahead of Prantik/Arshpreet/Ishmeet and even if you don’t agree with me on this you HAVE to admit that Toshi/Irfan/Priyani are in a totally different league than Arshpreet.
Another example – indian idol3. Last week they voted out Deepali who is SO much better than the other 2 girls.
Don’t vote for people ‘cos they Bengali/Punjabi/from UP/whatever – vote ‘cos their singing gets you excited and make you wana hear more. Who wants to hear Arshpeet over Toshi/Irgan/Priyani/Prantika/Abhas? Get real. C’mon people, this voting is becoming a joke. Its time to change the format where public votes only account for for 50% of the marks and 50% comes from judges.
I think our votes are doing great injustice to the talent of these aewsome singers. I mean the other day Abhas was in last 4 – sweet jesus – gimme a break. He is BY FAR the most talented voice in ANY singing competition EVER and people have the nerve to get him in LAST 4. He really doesn’t NEED our votes to be a great singer – which he WILL become – we will see more of him in coming years but please stop making fun of ourselves and avoid regionalison an apolitical national talent forum. I believe we Indians have shown a basic lack the maturity to think outside our social prejudices/moulds in the way we’ve been voting these wonderful artists.
To me this is very low and goes against the spirit on the competition.

I totally agree with Vishal’s comment. What he is spilling is nothing less than absolute truth. But I feel all reality shows are thinking on the business perspective than finding a good singer for India. The fact is more SMS VOI receives the more revenue / profit. I can say VOI organisers itselft encorouge the participants to ask or beg votes in their regional areas because they can make lot of business. You know each sms charges around rupees 3 and everyweek at least they may be one crore msg. having a weekly revenue of 3 crores. Its a big money yaar…

i choose Abhilasha as per my music knowledge,rest all others are fine too

my name is irfan from Karachi Pakistan. I am very disharted because one of the best singer Toshi is out of the show, i think indian audience is not a great judges of sur, voice, music. very very senseles audience. agar ye show pakistan mein hota to i am 100% confident ke hamari audience Toshi, Aabhas, aur Arshit ko kabhi danger zone mein nahi jan e deti. Agay is show ka allah hi hafiz hai.

Amul star voice of India is the best program among all the music contest program currently running on other TV channels. Yesterday I saw that Toshi is out from the contest, it is really disappointing for music lovers. I think the format of program is need to be changed, in my opinion the eriction decision should not be completely depend upon public and 50% weightage should be given to judges judgment and 50% decision should remain depend upon public. Because think the judges have more knowledge about music, sur rather than a common man.

At last I want say, in many programs I have seen the option of wild card entry, why don’t program director use this and vote for all loser singers.

i hope the concept of public voting will ruin the show. we have seen toshi being eliminated, harshit in danger. toshi being such a wonderful singer must not be eliminated.

After voting , the Last 4 contestant should be made to Sing again , and then the Judges show rank on their performance .and they should Judge who leaves the VOI. other than this there is no uses of Judges, they should put any four ordinary Judges who probably not even need to know what singing is. Toshi left , now VOI should do something about it.

I want to post my views about this program and about the participants, etc.

First point, I strongly disagree with the concept of this program to select one Voice of India.

Music has no limitations and there is place in Indian music arena for plenty of musicians and singers of diverse variety. In fact the show is going against the spirit of music by restricting to one winner.In fact it is also dangerous by causing humiliation and despair for those who don’t make it to the winning post.

Second point. In this world there are two groups of people as far as music is concerned. I’m not saying that one is superior to the other but they are different in tastes and they invariable think that they are right and the other group is wrong.

One of the groups is those who consider voice and melody as the basis for music. A voice which is
clear and sweet and can handle high notes comfortably is preferred by this group. By melody I mean the subtle variations in tone and pitch which makes the song attractive. I personally belong to this group which was more dominant in the 1960s and 1970s. The test is if you think that Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar are the best male and female singers ever so far then you are in this group.

The other group considers rythm and beat to be the basis for music. A set of drums and other instruments struck in random at a furious pace and played at full volume will do the trick. In fact, even if there’s no human voice, the absence is not likely to be noticed. If you are a fan of rock bands then you belong to this group.

I don’t know which group is the majority but it’s probably the second group which is dominating in the nineties and after.

Now my comments about the present contestants. To the first group mentioned above ( To repeat, I’m in this group) Abhilasha is the clear No.1. Why?

Abhilasha has a clear sweet voice (almost comparable to Lata and especially Asha Bhonsle) which can effortlessly rise to the high notes. She can also handle the subtle variations in tone, pitch and
delivery to sing melodious songs. In addition, she puts feeling and emotion into every song. Her voice has the haunting quality which lingers in the mind. The song Suraj Hua Madhyam went straight into my heart like a knife. Abhilasha is also very versatile, able to sing different types equally well, from the light songs of Asha Bhonsle to the romantic numbers and also can handle fast numbers too. She has deliberately selected the most difficult songs and carried it off. Of course, she is very young now and in a little time her voice will mature more and improve further.

The other participants are more or less of equal calibre and type and are more liked by the second group mentioned above. Among them I felt that Abhaas had the best control but his voice is quite thick. Toshi and the others male singers are also good singers but are not suited to sing a Rafi or Kishore song, for example.

The other girls also have husky or slightly thick voices and are suited more for noisy fast songs than for melody.

I became a committed fan of Abhilasha only about 2 weeks back when I watched and heard her for the first time. I truly forget the surroundings and the world when I’m listening to her songs. I agree with the judges that Abhilasha has a magic in her voice. I have experienced it.

Coming to the results, it’s quite possible that Abhilasha won’t make it as the Voice of India because of the public voting format (which also is of doubtful validity but this can be discussed in another post).

Hence I would like to suggest that the program should be called Star Voices of India and declare winners in different genres or categories. Does Filmfare Awards or Oscars give only one award each?
Can you measure male singing and female singing in a common way? So there should be seperate winners among male and female singers.

After all, India needs different types of singers to meet the needs of different groups.

I solicit support for this idea (details can be discussed on the forum) and meanwhile urge everyone
not to reject Abhilasha and to vote for her in large numbers.

I am not related to Abhilasha in any way or even know her. I am writing this because I am saddened by the criticism about Abhilasha seen in some of the comments and I feel that she should be supported and not suppressed.

I am not disagree on “TOSHI’s” classical base,he has a tremendous voice quality. But so far as the question of versatilty arise he is no whwre near “AABHAS”.I never miss any episode of SVOI.The song “Din Dhal Jaye”(GUIDE) is one of the my favourite songs, this is the song for which I have seen GUIDE 25 times.I don’t claim that I have as much knowledge of music as the Judges but as a deep-deep love of Mohd. Rafi, I can challange if any body sings Rafi sahab’s song.Even “AABHAS” was a little bit neeche(swar)(for a fraction of seconds) whille singing “Hai Duniya Usiki”.If you have seen all the episodes of VOI. I request you to please comment on “AABHAS’” singing.

Bahas is never a negative thing unless it is taken personal, in yr case, u r most likey to take it personal becuase of the relationship u have with one of the contestants… Although it seems unnatural and illogical that u won’t take Abhas’s side cuz of that relation and will purely treat him as a neutral viewer should, I would like to clarify that it has none of my concern, u’r surely independent in supporting Abhas as being his sister, fan or whatever u like and for that u dont have to explain it to me or anyone else my dear!

U’ve mistakenly conceptualized that I was ‘against Abhas’, Abhas is Mr. Nobody for me, think yourself, before this Show I never knew him, he hasn’t harmed in any sense…Why should I be against THE PERSON? I dont know him as a “Person” and I dont need to. I’m not against Abhas but the Injustice. Similarly, I dont support “Mr. Toshi” BUT the Justice and true talent. dont think that i am a muslim that’s why i am favouring toshi and irfan i was very shocked to see when muhammad irfan was eleminated and then was really very very shocked and was sad to see when muhammad toshi was eleminated.one thing which hurts me too much was the unprofessional and unethical attitude of mr.lalit pandit and mr.aadesh they always say that hurshit is the best he is the “voice of india”.if you remember the “qawali episode” where mr.jatin pandit said that today hurshit and ishmeet not sang well as compare to m.irfan,m.toshi and abhaas and he said that the singer of “voice of india” should be multitalented that the singer should have the command over each and every type of song.so,now my question is to mr.jatin,mr.lalit and mr.aadesh that why hurshit is still in top 3 and toshi and irfan are not.this shows that this contest is not on public voting and any other thing this program is only of personal liking and disliking.how do you aspect an elimination of person who had won 2 bikes by taking the highest number of votes and then that person in not in the top 3.i really apperciate the comments and attitude of mr.abhijeet he is not taking the things on personal liking and disliking he is fair enough to every contestent wheter the contestent is or agni or prithvi, if you think that i am write just give me one reason for the elemination of toshi and irfan and i need answer from all judges and from the public and if possible please forward my message as i need an answer from judges or from the other officials of amul star voice of india

I had been a very great fan of voice of India due to the excellent screening procedure of BEMISAAL 12 but right now, since the toshi was eliminated 2nd time the show had become quite useless to me. That is because it is really not fair to eliminate a person who is the best compititor for final. If just evaluating the voice, TOSHI is the winner of that show.

Infact i don’t think that that is a competition between Ishmeet and Harshid. Harshid’s voice is far better than Ishmeet’s.Who doesn’t know that Harshid is much better than Ishmeet??? SO WHERE IS THE COMPETITION?
Surprisingly both of those participant are in the final who were rated at low level in QAWALI segment. SO proved that both of them can’t claim for singing every kind of music.
