Movie Review: Dashavtar

Banner: Oscar Films International

Director: K.S. Ravikumar

Cast: Kamal Hassan, Asin, Mallika Sherawat and Jaya Pradha

Originally made in Tamil Dashavtar is dubbed in Hindi. The Hindi version comes out now. Kamal Hassan, the versatile actor whose acting skills are always acknowledged in South industry and Bollywood also, appear in 10 different roles in this one movie. Let’s check it out whether this entices or not!

The writer of this film becomes a big culprit for making this film fall flat. This long movie has nothing extra-ordinary to offer you. Apparently the 10 different roles attract a viewer, but once he gets along, he starts thinking as to what the writer wants to convey and what’s going on the celluloid? The writer’s ultimate focus is entirely on showing the skills of Kamal Hassan and nothing else. He has forgotten that in addition to this star, there are other things as well, which need to be focused. The script does not make any sense at all and seems absurd and confused. If the writer’s focus is on Kamal Hassan, then we should not take our eyes off the fact that it had to be since the writer and screenplay writer of this movie is none other than Kamal Hassan himself.

The flick is really unbearable from start to end.

Dashavtar starts in the ancient times and then shifts to 2004. A computer chip goes missing from a lab in USA, which contains a dangerous biological material. Govind, who is a scientist, is well aware of the danger of this missing chip and the hunt of this material takes him to India.

The film core purpose is to prove that how brilliant this actor Kamal Hassan is, who can carry 10 different roles with ease and aplomb. There is no other writing type of thing appears in this saga. The script has many flaws like the story.
The music is pretty ordinary by Himesh Reshammiya. The action sequences do not attract at all. Cinematography is mundane.

Kamal Hassan does 10 different roles and of them, he raises the spirits as Ex CIA agent. Asin does not appeal at all. As ‘Ghajini’ had boosted her career to heights, this film can harm her career growth. Mallika Sherawat is okay. Jaya Pradha is just about average. The rest of the cast looks poor.

On the whole, ‘Dashavtar’ is a waste of time and money.

RS Rating: 1/5
