Movie Review: Royal Utsav
Banner: Athrava Arts Producer: Anju R Patwa Director: Ravi K Patwa Star Cast: Vikram Kumar, Monalisa, Sudesh Berry, Master Abhishek Sharma, Tripta Chopra, Antra Vishwas, Charu Arora
Since last week, we have been witnessing low budgeted and regional movies. Why? The reason is the producers’ strike that has been going on. Taking advantage of this, the low profile and regional flick have come on the scene. But the question is whether they entice the viewers? The answer is a BIG ‘NO’. Why ‘No’, it is because they have nothing in store to confer a viewer. No story, no screenplay, no direction and no music at all, then do they think that the moviegoer is foolish who can be made fool? Remember, today’s viewer has grown up and cannot be made fool. Producer Anju R Patwa’s Royal Utsav under the banner Athrava Arts hits the screens. Starring Vikram Kumar, Monalisa, Sudesh Berry, Master Abhishek Sharma, Tripta Chopra, Antra Vishwas and Charu Arora; the film is directed by Ravi K Patwa.
‘Royal Utsav’ is based around erratic historical facts. Alexander gets a rebirth in the movie Royal Utsav. The film tells the story of Sikandar (Alexander) who conquered the world and then took steps towards India to conquer it. He won Kashmir area but could not proceed further. Then his armies refused to movie ahead. Thus he had to return to his native country to reach his destined death.
After rebirthing, Alexander comes to know that India cannot be conquered with war instead it can be won with love. He takes his journey to India where he bumps into his love and then learns various Shashtras and during all this he meets Chanakya. He ties the knot with Rani Roopmati and settles down in India.
The film cannot reach at the level of the yesteryears’ Utsav (starring Rekha and Shekhar Suman) but it seems that the theme has been snatched from that or is loosely based on it. There is no Royal ilk of thing in the film. And there is no novelty and anything you can rave about. With a complete new cast and crew, what can you expect from it? The music is lackluster and spoils your mood. The direction is poor. About the actors, all do not know the acting. They need to learn the art.
On the whole, ‘Royal Utsav’ is a big disappointed film from all angles. Avoid it.
