• Shilpa Shetty: With IIFA’s big show at Yorkshire, the Big Brother winner had her kitty full of an enthralling performance, a sea of crowd going ga-ga over her and a birthday bash to remember. The lucky lady went on to launch her own perfume brand on June 13th at Central London and will be making more headlines in her extended stay in London.
• Amitabh Bachchan: The big boss of IIFA was spotted everywhere from press conferences to IIFA cricket match to the grand finale itself. The brand ambassador of IIFA was talk of the town as the mega event rolled out in Sheffield. But, what was astonishing to see was the amount of criticism this man has been dealing with and the way he was booed at the IIFA event. Not a good way to make news though!
• Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai: Here comes the all-so-perfect couple of Bollywood with the arm candy along with the heartthrob of millions. Aishwarya was formally introduced as a Bachchan. The enviable couple came in arm-in-arm for the gala with all the heads and cameras turning in their direction.
• Shah Rukh Khan: The king Khan of Bollywood seems to be going his new buddy Sallu’s way. SRK used his artistic skills for a live effort with the maestro himself. Along with M F Hussain, SRK painted an artist-celebrity art-piece for auction by the Bonhams of London.
• Bappi Lahiri and Abhijeet: The motor mouth singer is again in a soup after his secret battle with the legendary musician Bappi Lahiri went public in an interview. During the interview, Abhijeet reportedly called Bappida as a ‘besharam sangeetkar’ to which Bappi Lahiri retorted by saying that he plans to sue the singer for defamation.
• Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif: Now, did we hear that Salman was getting serious for a lady. Well… super brat was at it again after he threw out Katrina from his room and then spent the entire IIFA night with a new girl. Poor Katrina didn’t even get to sit with Sallu. And as RS revealed that girl is none other than Salman’s best buddy Govinda’s daughter. Wonder what’s cooking here!
• Emraan Hashmi & Mustafa Zahid (Awarapan): The film that was a star attraction along with IIFA was this yet another Bhatt film starring Emraan Hashmi. Emraan’s new look for the film with long hairs and no kissing is a surprise package. The media is already about this film as the Awarapan press conference got a good turn out in London. Along with Emraan, Pakistani rock sensation Mustafa Zahid also made news with his promotional stint for the film’s music with the British media.
• Smriti Irani: Yes we all know her as ‘Tulsi Virani’. The indomitable bahu and soap queen of Indian TV has finally bid adieu to the Balaji clan after she shifted loyalty to a rival channel. After playing the pivotal role of Tulsi in the mega successful serial “Kyunki Saas Kabhi Thi”, Smriti Irani acted for the final episode of her long stint with Balaji Telefilms. She reportedly was going through a rough patch with Ekta Kapoor, Balaji Films head as she started working as an actor for Sony TV’s serial “Virrudh”. After all these years, the character of ‘Tulsi’ will get a new face in the form of Gautami Kapoor (wife of Ram Kapoor, another fav actor of Ekta Kapoor)
