A television channel reported that there would be a third version of Umrao Jaan, this time in Bhojpuri, and Soha Ali Khan would be playing Umrao Jaan.

A source within the Bhojpuri industry says, “Yes, there is talk that a respected filmmaker of Bhojpuri films is contemplating remaking Umrao Jaan. It is true that they were thinking of casting Soha but so far nothing has been finalized yet.”

“There also talks of Preity Zinta doing a Bhojpuri film. Today Bhojpuri films are huge,” he added.
