The motive of any basic comedy is to keep its viewers in splits. Logic may not count in this situation, we too don’t. The film has been quite stylishly shot and this works to the favour of the film as it will attract the young blood at least for a weekend (but not magically). The problem lies with the script, the soul of the film. Technically, the characters are just thrown in each scene and are asked to create a scene, which does not happen. In the entirety, the film is remembered just for a few individual performances, overall it’s not happening.
Though Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever manage to pull out a few laughs from the quiet crowd, I really felt that the scenes looked as if they have been performed on a stage play, not in a film. Not to forget, Shahid’s bike chase and Sunny’s fight in the finale were absolutely fabulous. But a few good cherries don’t help the cake taste good…Isn’t it?
Coming to the plot, the film is based on a diamond robbery, done by Rocky (Chunky Pandey) who also happens to be the nephew of Chowski (Gulshan Grover). Chowski instructs Rocky to sell the diamond to Lalwani (Asrani), his brother who is based in Dubai. At the same time, he cautions Rocky to stay away from guns, firearms and gambling, as Rocky has an undying desire for such things.
