Shah Rukh on verge of signing for Dhoom 3

Karan: Where have you been the last few weeks?
Tony: I have been alive, that is as much as I can say. But you guys have to give me a little time to myself too. After all you must know what I do for you week in week out. But to make up for the lack of updates recently, I am going to make this week’s column, a little extra special.

Suleyman Hamid: What is next for Shah Rukh Khan after Don, what other high-profile movies is he doing?
Tony: A nice and easy question to begin this week’s column. Thank you so much Suleyman. Shah Rukh Khan will be doing Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. The film is a reincarnation story which sees Shah Rukh Khan’s character being reborn after 30 years. I will get more details on this for you in a few weeks. Farah has promised to give me some exclusives on the actual story of the film. Right now Shah Rukh Khan is shooting for Yash Chopra’s Chak De, which is a cross between Oscar nominated Lagaan and world renowned Bend It Like Beckham. In the film Shah Rukh Khan plays a hockey coach for a girl’s team. Finally, he might be doing Dhoom 3. Yes Dhoom 3. The script of the film is complete and Shah Rukh Khan is being touted to play the role of the baddie. I mean it has to get better than before. First John Abraham, then Hrithik Roshan, and now Shah Rukh Khan. Only thing is that this around the film will not be directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. Not only that, but Ranbir Kapoor (son of Rishi Kapoor), has also been confirmed to star in the flick. The only actress that has been confirmed is Aishwarya Rai, but Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, and Isha Koppikar, are also rumoured to be signing up. SX Power: Hey Tony, a few questions: Is Aftab Shivdasani still with Yana Gupta? Has he really moved in with her?
Tony: He is with her. Aftab and Yana are very personal people and don’t discuss. So even if they split, it will take long to know.

SX Power: Where is Salman Khan these days?
Tony: Salman is busy shooting for all his films. He has just returned from a schedule of the film Partner at Bangkok on September 29.

SX Power: Is Karisma not with her husband anymore?
Tony: Apparently not. But it is said that he was in Mumbai few days ago. She has already got her kid admitted in a children’s playschool in Mumbai. Husband Sanjay Kapur lives in New Delhi.

Naveena: Thank you for answering my question on whether or not Rani and SRK have any movies together. Since they don’t have any movies lined-up together then I take it that the “rumours” about Madhuri Dixit making a comeback with SRK in a Yash Chopra movie, that also has Rani and Preity in pivotal roles, are baseless. Are they?
Tony: Madhuri may do a film opposite Salman Khan to be directed by designer turned filmmaker Vikram Phadnis.

Aamer Masood: Do you know when Rajkumar Santoshi starts shooting the Ajay Devgan/Salman Khan film London Dreams? Do you have any news about Anubhav Sinha’s film ‘Cash’ starring Ajay Devgan and Zayed Khan?
Tony: Anubhav has already shot a major portion of his film Cash in South Africa. His film also helped promote tourism there and in the bargain he got some splendid subsidies as well. Santoshi will start shooting London Dreams early next year.

Naveena: Is Aditya Chopra making a movie or planning to make one… I mean directing one?
Tony: Not at the moment. He seems to have his hand full creating Dhoom. He now wants Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor for Dhoom 3.

Suresh Chand: I would say Ram Ram to my families and friends in Fiji and all at Radio Sargam. To my family (mother, brother Rakesh and family) in Navo Nadi. My in-laws in Malolo Transmitter Road Nadi, my sisters and their families in Cuvu – Sigatoka, Legalega – Nadi. And In Wailevu – Labasa I would like to send my deepest thoughts, well wishes and Happy Deepavali. Also would like send regards to my former workmates at Rosie Tours in Nadi Airport and elsewhere in Fiji. I am enjoying my living in Picton (South Island) New Zealand with my wife and only son but missing all my rest of families and the rest of sunny Fiji a lot. Tony: That is nice. And I would like to do the same and wish the whole world the same, and a happy Eid too. I am hoping to write one more column before Eid, but if I am late, then take this wish as my wish for you all.

Aisha: I was just wondering if there were any Vollywood adaptations of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights?
Tony: Pooja Bhatt did make a serial out of it called Dhund, which had her ex-boyfriend Aly Khan in the lead role. However, I can’t think of any movie adaptations.

Kiran: Hi I am a big Priyanka Chopra fan, could you tell me if she has signed any other film apart from Love Story 2050, and who are her co stars, as well as Juhi Chawla (who I’m also a fan of).
Tony: Priyanka Chopra is easily the most promising actress on the big screen today. She will be doing a few more films which she has signed including Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam for Pritish Nandy Communications, Deodhar Gandhi opposite Sunny Deol, Shyam Benegal’s Chamki Chameli with Sanjay Dutt. Ek Haseena Ek Deewana with Govinda. (The film has now been re-titled Bekasoor), Nikhil Advani’s film Salaam-e-Ishq, Feroz Khan’s remake of Qurbani and Rumi Jaffrey’s film God Tussi Great Ho. And she might sign up for Dhoom 3. Wow what a busy girl.

Naveena: I want to see some new Ranbir Kapoor pictures please.
Tony: Yes I found this picture of Ranbir of Google image search. He sure looks dashing doesn’t he? Ranbir Kapoor is the son of Rishi Kapoor and the grandson of Raj Kapoor. In fact, Ranbir was the real name of Raj Kapoor. And the boy even has some of Raj Kapoor’s looks. Producers and directors are jumping left right and centre to sign up this dashing boy, not because he looks good, but because in Bollywood something matters more than looks and acting… blood. In this age of remakes and sequels, people want to get such people only. Remakes and sequels of the stars themselves. Something is common at least.

Naveena: Some updates on Shaad Ali’s Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and when is Movie going to release.
Tony: Mid next year.

Arshad: Please can you find out if Urmila is signing any new movies that we’re not aware of?
Tony: Nothing much. She got paid just 2.8 million rupees for Bas Ek Pal.

Arshad: Also, is she actually doing a RGV film other than Sholay, and is she in London Dreams?
Tony: Yes, London Dreams and a film called Non Stop Dreams by Sunil Advani.
