The title track of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was initially crooned by Daler Mehndi. Amitabh Bachchan had personally approached Daler Mehndi to lend his voice for the track.

Later, as the song was recorded, the music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy didn’t find the voice suiting the feel of the track and then it was decided that the song sung by Daler Mehndi will be scrapped.

The song which features in the soundtrack is sung by Shankar Mahadevan.
