22 May 2007 (Sawf News) – A household name in the UK today, Shilpa is getting ready to perform at the upcoming IIFA awards function in her ’second home’ Yorkshire on June 17.
“Shilpa Shetty is a global winner,” says DNA, “She is enjoying one of the most celebrated victories in Indian history.”
Shilpa says, “It’s definitely going to be an exciting experience, all the more because it’s being held in Yorkshire.”
This will be Shilpa’s first performance in England after her Big Brother victory. She will perform to all the top songs of the year from Bollywood films.
“I want to show England what Bollywood song and dance is all about,” says Shilpa excitedly.
Reports say that her birthday may also be celebrated in the IIFA function.
“I don’t know about any such plans,” she laughs, “I feel blessed with so much attention and love.”
Shilpa’s next film Apne that has Dharmendra and his sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, performing together for the first time is releasing soon. She is thrilled with a second release so soon after the wonderful success of Life In A Metro, which is doing excellent business in India.
“In Apne, I play the daughter-in-law of an Indian family,” she says, “I am ‘married’ to the whole family rather than to my husband alone, just like the ideal Indian bahu.”
