Siddhi Vinayak Movies’ entertainer, ‘Jai Veeru’ appears on screens today. Produced by Narendra Bajaj and Shyam Bajaj, the film is direcetd by Puneet Sira and stars Fardeen Khan (after some hiatus, he emerges in films), Kunal Khemu, Diya Mirza, Anjana Sukhani and Arbaaz Khan.
Puneet Sira, after directing ‘I Proud to be an Indian’, comes to direct this mindless entertainer, which is mainly targeted at the hardcore audience. For those, who want to watch it with using their minds, should stay away from it otherwise it will ruin their pleasures. Those who view it without thinking for even a moment on it, will succeed to grab it.
Veeru (Kunal Khemu) comes across Jai (Fardeen Khan) in a pub when the latter saves him from the goons. A master in stealing cars, Veeru is a small time criminal. He then goes ahead and convices Jai, who happens to be a moto mechanic, to join him. And eventaully Jai does. But little does Veeru know that Jai is basically on an undercover mission to nab underworld don Tejpal (Arbaaz) for whom Veeru works for. The fights oozes out when Veeru comes to know about Jai’s reality. Amidst all, Jai accidently gets shot by Veeru who then manages to escape from the country. Jai is thinking that Veeru did all this with the aim to kill him. On the other hand, the heartbroken Veeru comes under double trouble as if Jai’s double game was not enough, he has to save his skin from Tejpal who is baying for his blood as he is having in his possession a special diary that can expose Tejpal. Mumbai police is also on its way to hunt them. What follows next forms the rest of the movie.
The entertainment quotient in this film appears in parts. The pace picks up and then falls intermittently. The story does not seem sticking to the main topic rather becomes shaky. The writer does not show logic and here he falters hugely.
Puneet Sira does not impress at all with the direction. The music by Bappi Lahiri is okay. Allan Ami’s action attracts. K. Rajkumar’s cinemotography looks top notch.
Fardeen Khan falls flat. Kunal Khemu is average in performance. Diya Mirza enacts well. Anjana Sukhani too appears good. Arbaaz Khan is just about okay. Rest of the cast is unimpressive.
On the whole, ‘Jai Veeru’ can drag the hardcore masses only. For others, the movie is uninteresting having nothing along.
RS Rating: 1/5
