Halla Bol is a story which revolves around its central character Sameer Khan (Ajay Devgan). Sameer is an aspiring actor who comes from a small town. Sameer dreams of making it big in the shining world of cinema. Glory soon touches his feet when he gets his first break in a Hindi film. The story begins there as the small town boy goes on to become the most coveted action hero of Bollywood.
Quick success spoils Sameer as he forgets his modesty and humbleness. Unfortunately, Sameer ends up with a reputation of an unprincipled actor, a dishonest man. Time takes its own toll and one day, he witnesses a murder. The incident rips off his inhuman nature and he goes on to cry for justice, Halla Bol.
All the witnesses of the high profile murder turn hostile and defer from their statements. Ultimately, Sameer rises against the blues and decides to divulge with the truth in the court. All the odds are against him, he has developed new enemies.
The incident derives its inspiration from the Jessica Lal murder case.
Halla Bol displays the identity of a human which is masked by the glossy image of fame and comes to its real avtar when its conscience calls.
